Year Uno

So, for our first anniversary we went to West Yellowstone and Yellowstone. We spent Friday day and night in West Yellowstone. We went to the museum there in town. It was really cool, it had stuff on the planes from when they were first flying people there. They also had stuff on the centennial of Montana. They showed videos on the Fire of 1988, and the Earthquake that made Quake Lake. Then we went to the IMAX and saw Journey to Amazing Caves. And it was amazing to see those caves, and Josh loved it because it talked about the microbes that they are finding in those caves. After that we chilled in the hotel room for a while and then walked down the street to eat dinner.
The next day, our anniversary, we went to the lower loop of Yellowstone Park. We only did the one side of the loop, from Madison to Old Faithful to the West Thumb. From there Josh wanted to be spontaneous and decided that since there isn't much more on the rest of the loop that we would go down through Jackson and over the pass. I had only been to Jackson once before that I can remember. So that's the way that we went. It was really pretty, but we ran into every kind of weather you can think of.........except sleet! Yes, as it was raining and hailing on us it was snowing right above us.
While coming down through Grand Teton we saw a young buck laying down with two doe. (And yes, doe is plural for doe....) We also saw a lone Elk on the Elk reserve.
It was just a wonderful and well deserved vacation.
